'Joe the Plumber' To Speak In Topeka

A man made famous during the last presidential campaign will be the speaker at the Great American Forum.

Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, better known as "Joe the Plumber" will make an appearance as the keynote speaker from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Ramada Inn, 420 S.E. 6th.

The forum is the fourth hosted by the Great American Forum Steering Committee.

Then you'll realize 'Joe' is just an average guy, who was thrust into the political spotlight after he embarrassed candidate Obama.

I think Joe the Plumber is getting too much run. His 15 minutes of fame should have ended a long, long time ago.

It could easily be "Brockert80 the _______ (whatever your profession)".

'Joe' represents the workers and middle class in america. the silent MAJORITY of people who are just fed up with government intrusion, higher taxes, wasteful spending and political corruption. While he embarrassed Obama and the Democrats, he has been equally critical of the Republicans. The whole system of politics as usual and status quo needs to be shaken up. 'Joe' is certainly doing that and definately a voice for political change.
